It is a great place to live, I have to say. However, having travelled a lot I have found that for the most part life is the same wherever you go. Sleep, eat, socialize, work….

Here is another place you should consider visiting, it is in the southern part of Sardegna, the Italian island south of Corsica.
We were sailing around the island so we got to see a lot of unspoiled beaches that are inaccessible by land.

I'm in!! Love the theme!! Thanks for the new weekender, the great theme and wonderful contributions so far. I have to get to work now, but so looking forward to the weekender treat when I can get back here!

I've been away from SR a lot last few days, but I am here in spirit. Things are ok with me.

Ugh. I have so many little "rules" for myself. I don't even like rules, but I manage to make up rules for forum use, too. Obsessively trying to control my world, one rule at a time.

One of the things I really like about this thread is its stream-of-consciousness. I don't have to answer everyone and I don't have to have an opinion about everything.

Just pop in whenever. Lots of people do.
Thank you, I appreciate the warm welcome! I'm feeling a bit anti-social recently having completely stopped going to my local bar/coffee bar. I QUIT SMOKING on January 3rd. Even though I had stopped going to the bar for alcohol previously, I still popped in for a morning coffee and/or to buy cigarettes. Now I really and truly have no reason to go there and that was just about the only place I had the opportunity to talk to other people. So, all that to say, I think I'll try to keep up and "be social" here this weekend!

Must admit that is pretty much the reason I seem to start and then drop off after a day or two, feel I've lost what's going on - will bear that in mind and keep popping in this weekend.

Meraviglioso,

We left from New Orleans and we went to Jamaica, Grand Caymans, and Cozumel Mexico then back to New Orleans.

Here is a picture of New Orleans when we arrived back.

Mera, congrats on quitting smoking! That is worth a temporary pause in the coffee routine, I think.

Yes, it is! Too many temptations for me down at the bar- even during the "coffee drinking hours" But I have to say that it really hasn't been as horrible as I imagined. In addition, a great plus, is that thoughts about drinking/cravings have also nearly vanished since I quit. For me the two went hand in hand. If I smoked more I drank more and if I drank more I smoked more and on and on it went. I had always thought, if I'm not drinking I am at least going to keep the cigs as a backup, but it has actually gotten easier all around. I feel great too, much cleaner, healthier.

That was my experience too, Mera. Being off both is the only way. I also stopped all prescriptions and sleep aids. I'm going all-natural. It has been a process that has taken many years, though. It didn't happen overnight in a blinding light of awareness.

Y'all are so lucky. I went "all natural" and got thrown in jail.

That hasn't happened to me - yet - trach. I'm not saying I'm sane either. It's easy to stay on an even keel when I'm not working and not married.

The true test will be when I go back to work and have to hold my tongue.

Marty, I can see your pics, Mera's, Weasel's, Brain, Mesa and BigS. I can't see Midwest's, Tetra, Sao or Lunar. I can see them from my desktop computer but not on my phone.

Mera, lovely pictures. One of these days maybe I'll get to Italy. My great grandfather immigrated from Ataleta. It would be nice to see.

And I'd love to go to Petra.
