4 months & grateful for SR
Hey friends, I'm 4 months sober today! I'm so grateful for this online community and all of you. Your responses have helped me see sobriety as a gift and preferred way of life!! I no longer feel like I'm "giving up" something.
I know there will be hard days and it's important that I not get complacent or overly confident.....this thing is never fully kicked, but managed through hard work.
My last relapse was kinda a drinking off-and-on phase of about 8 months.
2.5 years sober = where I'd be had I not "thought I could moderate"
I mention that, not to beat myself up, but, as a meaningful reminder that I don't want to lose sober time to a "moderation experiment" ever again!
I want to post on this site in 2.5 years sober that I've not lost any more minutes, hours, days or years to the depressant poison that is alcohol.
