Liver function test

Hi all. I have been extremely worried about my health. Feeling bad all the time obsessing over the thought of having cirrhosis. I finally got enough courage to get my liver function tests done. I just got the news that everything was within normal range. I have read that a peraon can have cirrhosis and have normal results. Is this normal? Do I push for a biospy or just stop stressing? Sorry Im such a stress mess.

Stop stressing. It solves nothing. Let your Dr. do what you pay him/her for. It depends on the individual but I drank heavily for decades and my liver is fine.

Consult with your Dr. and try to relax.

People can't really give any advice about getting test done and doctor stuff.
But,I'd say to stop drinking if you haven't.
Then stop stressing. There's a lot of stories here of folks that were really sick with alcohol related issues. And with sobriety, things improved 100%.
The liver is quite a resilient organ.

What did your doctor say when you asked about this?

Don't try to quit drinking. Actually quit drinking. For good. And stop stressing. If the tests said you're ok, then you're ok.

I'd call your dr office back and ask this question and maybe write down more questions you may have before calling.

Stressing out about it will only make you feel worse. And prolonging your drinking will also make things worse.

Hope you are doing well today.

I used to be sure I had a hundred diseases. Now I'm sober, got all checked out and life's good. Being sober really helps with the obsessing part.

Smile

You will live. I used to (still do a bit) have a bit of somataform stuff going on but it was all in my head. That doesn't mean I don't go to the doctor's when I need but I no longer obsess. The worried well.
