32 Days Of Sobriety

Today is my 32nd day without alcohol and I'm finally feeling pretty good. This is the longest I've ever gone...about a year and a half ago I did 28 days. Last week I was feeling pretty low and sorry for myself, but I finally started being able to sleep. I'm finally at that point where I'm feeling really good physically. Losing weight, my face has thinned out some. And I'm no longer thinking about drinking all of the time.

One thing I've noticed about sobriety is that you really start to feel. I've been looking deeply into myself and identifying the underlying issues that made me want to drink to forget. It's eye opening.

There is most definitely life after alcohol.

Great job! I have days that I feel "off." It just happens, sometimes for no reason whatsoever. In early sobriety I had a lot of off days. It gets better. I had done damage to my central nervous system and brain and it had to heal.

For me it took about a year until I felt really stable all the time.

Keep it going!

Searching self-examination, without the alcohol blinder, only helps, y'know?

Congrats on 32, may you have every day of your life back.

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

Keep the ball rolling! If you feel this good now, imagine how great you'll feel in another month!

Good job Josh - As Opi posted, looking into the why's is a big part of the journey. But, good days or bad once committed to this new life I cannot falter. I recognize I am not guaranteed another chance.

Well done, happy for you friend

Sounds like you might be smiling at that person in the mirror
Well done on the first month; the beginning of many more to come. . .

Rican, congrats! Good luck on your interview!

This thread is over three years old, though.

Nicely done! The thinning out of my face is one of the first things I noticed....and other people noticed as well!
