Day 7 and the world sucks
Hi SillyHuman - I'm just seeing this post now. I can't add much, but wanted to send you some love, & wishes for a better day tomorrow. I remember Day 7 quite well. I felt very much the same. You're still healing and adjusting. Things are going to get better, we promise.
Going to walk dogs at the shelter sounds like a great idea! I am a shelter volunteer, also and know how rewarding it can feel for me and be to them. The dogs appreciate and need it so much and it feels really good to help them and also not have to deal with people for a little while - ha ha (maybe that last part is just me . . . ) It is a nice distraction.
Hi Silly - don't envy you going through those first tough weeks. Just try to remember that it WILL pass. And the feelings and urges are just that. They can't really hurt you. Breathe through them.
It sounds like you're pretty creative and have green fingers. Why not create something lovely with plants indoors while you can't get outside? I always fancied making one of those little fairy gardens - but I'm a sucker for that kind of of stuff.
Anyway - keep going - we';re rooting for you. Please try to get to the meetings - they do tend to make us feel better and stronger in our sobriety.
