csaw's recovery journal

As day 4 comes to an end (10 sober days out of 11) I reflect back and, what do you know, I can remember everything that happened recently! Ha I'm discovering new perks of sobriety every day.

Go csaw!!! I can spot a keeper -- you stick with it, ok? No matter what, don't drink, and post post post!

Four days sober is a great start. And it keeps on getting better.

One downside is my energy level hasnt changed yet. Still feel exhausted more times than not despite getting a lot more sleep recently. I thought the booze and lack of quality sleep was causing that. Maybe it just needs more time.

Congrats csaw. I'm going through an energy roller coaster myself. On day 10, and each day brings a new up or a new down. Happy for your day 4! Day 3 was probably my hardest, so hopefully you've bypassed some of the worst by now?

Day 5. Nothing new to report just checking in really. I've decided to blame my lack of energy on the fact that I cut out sugary drinks and now drink water only. And coffe. Anyway, on to day 6.

Be patient csaw. Don't judge the benefits of sobriety by the first few days, or weeks, or even months. You have to play it for the long game, and then -- it's 100% worth it, and more!

Thanks seep. I think the worst days are behind me I hope. I dont feel like I have bypassed anything though. I feel like I'm a marshmallow trying to smash my way through a brick wall.

Sorry -- don't think about it. Time has a way of taking care of itself. I just meant, don't give up because of a bad day. You're doing great!

Day 6.
Felt fine this morning, but again exhausted by afternoon. Coffee helped alot. Alot of coffee helped alot. Seems i can't drop a bad habit without picking up a new one. Maybe I just have an addictive nature seeing as i can't do anything in moderation.

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

I'm also on Day 6, sleeping better and feeling more rested but I need to take it easy and not tackle anything too major. I'm not working out or anything, for example. The doc has me on a lot of B vitamins. I'm avoiding caffeine for the most part.

Yesterday i started back taking my multivitamins with 120 mcg of b-12. Hopefully that will perk me up soon.
