It's hard to believe that American youth are this ignorant. It's shaming really.

You will feel better tomorrow, when you're elbow-deep in work.

You're welcome. That will be $250.

DiCaprio just won Golden Globe for Revenant. Talking through the music, unfazed. Good for you, Leo!

Everyone is in bed bit me. I'm going to have some ice cream.

Melina, I have no answer for you. I can't wait and relax. Even if there's nothing to do, I have to be buzzing around. I hate it. I used to read my Sunday paper in the morning. I haven't read any of my newspapers in months. Sorta pointless to even have a subscription. I used to read it and do the crossword puzzles in the evening. I'm scared that if suddenly the kids started cleaning up and Mr. Ruby helped out, I'd be miserable still. I can't relax and I'm always feeling guilty.

Whew. Got that off my chest. I don't know what to do about it though.

Anyway, I don't have trouble sleeping. It's the only time I feel relaxed. I'm heading for bed soon.

I completely relate to not being able to relax in a healthy way without feeling guilty.

The frightening thing about the Jimmy Kimmel segment is that I'm sure North Korea has seen it.

I love alone time to "relax" but it's more like my daydreaming time, or thinking time, rather than truly relaxing time. It's kind of a meditative state. Running puts me into that state, and sitting with coffee, zoning out puts me in that state. It's essential for writers to be able to tap into it at will.

Humming and singing does it too. Washing dishes, showering, same.

Everyone in bed bit me? Good gravy. My brain hurts. My thumbs and autospell. Hopefully there will be no biting. Both cats sleep with me.

I have a hard time relaxing, too, and I always feeling like there's something I 'should' be doing. That's why on vacation it takes a few days to truly get into it. Unfortunately, by the time I get the hang of relaxing it's time to go home!

Sweet dreams y'all xo

Made it through another shift without a drink. Even when the bartender offered me a specific cocktail she was making the other girls.

The shift was very weird. Some of the girls were in a mood tonight. Lots of normal conversations got weird and there were miscommunications. No reason really, no one had done anything on purpose.

But it seemed indeed like Mercury retrograde was getting us all...

And of course I walked away with a guilt complex about any misunderstandings. I'm still thinking about it and there was really nothing to worry about. Had nothing to do with me but I did have a few of these exchanges.

I realize that that's narcissistic. I do always feel responsible for all the problems that happen in any family unit.

I am often guilty of over analyzing and then internalizing and then feeling sick about it. Drinking used to mute that feeling for me so I'm a bit worried about that getting worse in sobriety...
