Sad state
So i was at work 2day & met this really pleasant but rock bottom man.
I knocked on his door & as soon as he opened it i could see the shakes.
We had a brief conversation & he said he hadn't meant to call us & he didnt need us anymore. He just had this sad look in his face.
I asked him if he'd had a drink yet (it was about 9am) he said no but that he needed 1 to stop his shakes. So i asked if i could come in & help & he let me.
I could see an unopened can of beer on the floor & i knew he wouldn't b able to open it easily as his shakes were awful. So i opened it for him.
We chatted for a bit & i asked him about his drinking, he too had a normal life but ended up living on his own & got lonely, we talked about tapering off the booze & i obviously said a trip to his GP was needed if he wanted to get off the booze safely.
He was so grateful for a bit of company & i guess someone that didn't judge him.
he did say 'ooh u seem to know alot about alcoholism' i didnt go into detail, just said I had my own issues with booze & i gave up drinking 3 months ago.
I really felt for him, i hope he gets the help he needs
