day 44

Almost drank again today. My wife's mother is in the hospital and is out of town for a couple days. I could of tied one on and no one would know. But I would and I want to keep this streak going. I'm sick of being a drunk and it's consequences.

Great work on 44 days! You would know if you drank....and worse, you'd be back to day 1 again. It will get better!

I too am very happy you said no, like you I have plenty of opportunity but when I play the tape through as to what has happened in the end it will never happen again, simply love being sober and what I am able to do and get done and enjoy time with my better half, like the movie this evening and supper after, could not have done that drinking, she live an hour from me on the highway.

celandra1, you would have known. then it would taken 45 more days to have 45 days of sobriety. As it is now it will be tomorrow.

Good choice, once we feel the cravings if we stick to our plans and stay strong they pass like anything else.

I'm glad you didn't drink. Being alone when there is no one around to be accountable to can be dangerous.

GREAT job coming here and posting about it BEFORE drinking.

I had 87 sober days at one point in my sobriety, and had a *opportunity* to drink like you stated...And well i drank for 5 straight days.

All because i wanted ONE drink. (Yeah...right!)

Congratulations on your 44 days. And congratulations on your commitment to your sobriety.

Thanks for being here!
