Don't Beat Yourself Up
I'm new to "truly wanting sobriety" in the grand scheme of things (6.5 months sober) and I feel for the people posting about relapses and going back and forth. The tug-of-war of insanity.
One thing I just wanna say to everyone struggling (because everyone's struggle is different to some degree); don't beat yourself up too bad about falling off if you have or have more than once.
Its a tough recovery road and has its ups and downs.
This is not to belittle the seriousness of the addiction (or any addiction) and needed to stop the cycle, but guilt and regret can kill your soul if you let it.
If you haven't heard anything positive from anyone and you are still in the heat of drinking/wanting to stop but can't just know that if you are posting on here that means that something in you wants to stop (as I've seen many people say on this forum) and you should be commended for that.
Many people know they have a problem and don't care.

Try as many times as is necessary. I'm on my third try. Many people finally nailed it after many more. Keep going, keep trying.

TNTStill,
What a lovely, supportive, and encouraging post. The sense of shame and failure following a relapse often overwhelms someone so much that sometimes they might quit trying altogether. And then there are those that keep trying over and again which is hugely commendable! It is important to note that each person's recovery journey is unique and their own. Each situation, bottom, or downfall may be exactly necessary for them to get to where they ultimately want to be in Sobriety.

They are going well. Still ups and downs but such is life.
I just know people kick themselves hard alota times (I still do it sometimes with past drinking and other things as well). A sincere effort to change doesn't deserve a put down from anyone. Every step is important.
