Hey guys. Need some advice..
Hi all, so I'm very new to this. I have a couple of questions..
When anyone here was drinking, did you ever feel like your brain was having a mini seizure? Just for a millisecond? Not bad or anything, just an od feeling. I can't help but think that the alcohol is responsible for it.
I've stopped drinking today, and I'm not feeling too crash hot.
How did go on your first day?
Would appreciate any help thank you kindly.

Dayna,
Welcome...this place saved my life...
No med advice here. If you need a dr...go the er..
Otherwise...stop drinking and you will heal...keep drinking and you won't...
No toxins in your body and mind = clean healthy body and mind..
I know it is easier said then done...it takes a few weeks to clean up...several months to get used to normal...
I did it for the last 8 months...I still suffer a bit...but I'm 95% better..maybe 96%...

I mean, I don't know if they are. It's just very brief, it doesn't hurt or anything. Just feels strange.
No, I'm alone for the moment, but my sister isn't aware of what is going on. I just told her I had a bad sleep haha

Actually Dayna,
I used to have mini panick attacks when I was withdrawing..they would jar me out of sleep...
Also...I used to stop breathing sometimes and wake up gasping...it was how I rolled...
My guardian angels had their hands full..
It gets better every day...

Dear Dayna, It is common to have all kinds of reactions to stop drinking and while heavy drinking. Its always best to get checked out by a MD but as long as you are not having DTs your body will heal and begin to regulate with out the drink. I got vertigo and dizziness a lot when I quit. Along with headaches and panic attacks. Anyway it all effects us in different ways. If you are really concerned get looked at by a medical professional. At best someone who has experience in addiction medicine. But the most important thing is to not give up and drink to make it go away. You have taken a magnificent and brave step. Get some help, here or at meetings and keep it up. You can learn to live without the drink. Sending you hope and courage. John
I echo going to see a doc, to me it was my only way out, I needed help.
First 3 days are a very rough road for me however I reached out for professional help, used every resource I could get my hands on to see me through and still do, especially this forum.
Wishing you the best
Andrew

You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

When I was drinking at my worst, I had these little things that felt like "brain zaps," especially at night. I don't know what they are, but they went away. I should have seen the doctor about this.
You never know what kind of havoc alcohol could have on your brain... If you think you're having seizures it's time to see a dr for a full eval... Seizures are not as easy to diagnose as it may be assumed.... I was checked out thoroughly earlier this year including a sleep- deprived eeg- didn't find anything but it was worth getting looked into- it was all normal
Yes. It would feel like my eyes would move in a funny way and I would have to pause and kind of collect myself.
I think the best way to describe it would be like a little electrical zap.
And yes I did notice it at the time and it really did scare me.
I'm happy to report that after 18 months of sobriety this no longer happens.

I had these too. Again, it was like a little electrical zap in my forehead head and I would kick my foot out. This would happen right as I was going to sleep.

Thanks everyone.
Our Cat went missing yesterday, after posting on Facebook, we found his dead along the highway, a few blocks from my house.
Feel so sad.
Wonder if I'm a bad person if I feel more sad losing a pet over a human
