Made it through the first party sober
So I never thought I would be able to do this but I did! Before I became addicted to alcohol, I would not have felt this was an accomplishment or take any willpower, which only emphasizes how much power alcohol has over me now. Hope you are all having an equally successful Saturday 😀

I shied away from parties for a while myself, at least the ones were drinking was the main attraction.
I felt it was very important for me to avoid temptation for a while.

That's awesome! Do you have any techniques or strategies you used that you can share?
I'm just getting started, and at some point in the future, I'd like to be able to safely navigate social situations where booze is present. I know it might be wise to skip parties and weddings for a while, but I don't want to do that forever. In fact, I'm hoping that sobriety will give me more reason and opportunity to get re-engaged with people and life.
