Day 1 postponed until tomorrow.
Dig in and put that AV in a cage where it belongs and throw the key away and never buy a set of bolt cutters, tomorrow will be worse than today, we all know that and have been there.
Wish you the best

AV is the addictive voice that tells you to drink or use. You can find more about it searching AVRT on Rational Recovery website. It is a helpful tool for some to identify and quiet that lying manipulative voice.
So true, I felt great when I woke up this morning, and thought to myself this is what I need to remind myself of in the evening. Day three here.
I've given my AV (addictive voice) a personality. She's a spiteful, jealous, manipulative bitch and I hate her. Now when she pops into my head and suggests we deserve a few drinks I actually enjoy telling her to get lost. It's hard when I'm feeling weak but it certainly helps.

My AV is actually a smooth, arrogant , "know it all" type of guy who tries to seduce me into drinking with him by making all sorts of promises. But really he is just a sad, pathetic liar who keeps hurting me and letting me down with his empty promises. I don't actually hate him. He just doesn't count for anything.
(Good topic for a new thread!!)
Hey CSW1112. Welcome!!!!! We are all here to help you.
Beginning to wonder if i should have given up booze and cigs at the same time. I may be making it extra hard on myself. Today (day2) was easy. The weather was nice and i spent some time outside and on this site. Tomorrow its back to the everday stressful grind. I know its going to be hard, but I'm ready to do this!
Day 3 going pretty well so far. My head seems to be alot more clear. I was hoping the bags under my eyes would have gone away by now because ive had plenty of rest, but my eyes are still puffy.
You can have reasons, or you can have results, but you can't have both.

I'm glad you're hanging in there. Give the bags under the eyes a little more time. They do go away. I forget how long mine took. Maybe a week or ten days, or thereabouts.
Just keep hanging in.
Just keep hanging in.
You face will look much better but it might take a few more days--typically,
we retain water for awhile due to most drinker's chronic dehydration.
Keep drinking plenty of water, eat quality healthy food, and keep sleeping as much as you feel you need and you will be amazed how much better you look
in a month
