I disabled my Facebook account when I was 5 months sober, but it had nothing to do with my sobriety. I have been "Facebook free" for almost a year now and I haven't missed it at all. I don't mean this to sound ugly, but frankly I didn't really care for a lot of my "friends" on Facebook. If I wouldn't want to have as actual conversation with them, why would I care what they had for dinner or what their dog did today?

I also deleted my account.
Fb is a tool for people to portray their life how they wish it to be. So many of my friends post positive uplifting quotes, relationship status but it's far from the truth.
It was a huge trigger for me too, and quite addictive, and an easy way to pass the time. But I feel better for it already.
