Welcome! I'm a newbie here. I can relate to you completely as I also was on a five day binge and then stopped for a couple of days to just then get right into another binge. It was a terrible vicious cycle. I'm on day 7 of being sober right now and I couldn't be happier that I'm not drinking. I'm not saying that it is going to be easy but this forum has definitely helped me. Hugs to you.

I have only had 2 drinks today. And 5mg of Valium
Sounds like you are trying to deal with "the shakes."
Been there, done that. It's pretty miserable.
The good news is, if you are like me after a couple of days you are fine. The key at that point, is to not pick up again. As you know, it's the first drink that get's you going, so basically you need a defense against that first drink.
Stick around, this website can help you figure out how to possibly accomplish that.

No shakes...which is weird given my consumption of 1-2 bottles of wine per day for a week. But I just feel like ****. Every time I take a drink, I feel better.
Yeah, taking a drink to cure the withdrawal is typical.
The first few days of sobriety are uncomfortable, no way around it. It's a small price to pay. Being uncomfortable and feeling bad is going to pass. Keep drinking and nothing good is going to happen.
Choose a few days of discomfort. That's all it is.

You may feel pretty ordinary for a few days...but once you get past that, you'll feel good again, and you'll be sober.
I really hope you decide to give it a go
