Thank you, Dee. This is where I failed last time. I didn't have a plan.

Thanks Dee, I actually never really made a plan.
But that's what I'm going to do today!
I'm making one for quitting smoking too, so these resources will help with that too.

Well, golly - I was addicted to alcohol. OF COURSE I would feel like drinking again. When that feeling came I would react to it by hoping it would go away. When it didn't in a few hours or days, I was back to drinking.

Hope: it's a great thing, but it isn't a PLAN.

The next time I feel like drinking I will _________________ instead.
Fill in the blank. That's the simplest short-term plan I know. It works if you use it.
I super-super like this.

Perfect. This is my nail biting moments go to. In the long term plan there is more and these moments have gotten fewer and farther between but cravings still strike. And in that moment "instead I will _______"

Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Ask me how I know.

One side comment. You have to follow your recovery plan. Knowing what to do and doing it are not always the same thing

Thanks for the Action plan Dee it is just what I needed. I am going to share it with others and not necessarily alcoholic. Think I'll start with the healthy food and water plan as I have lost a lot of weight, probably due to Valium WD . I'm doing really well there too down to 3.75mg. It is a slow arduous WD but has to be slow. The Action Plan is great.........who knows one day I might be in a girl's rock band which I intend to call The Rock Cakes for all you cooks out there. I love you all in a good way.
