NY eve shift was horrific!
Well, what can I say.......just awful. Most of the incidents we were called to last night stemmed around too much booze. I had to take 1 person to A&E as they were so wasted, so many people fighting everywhere!
Then i went to an awful, very sad incident where someone died, this was also triggered by booze (drunken arguments which went too far)
Having this kind of shift, as awful as they can be just confirms that im making the right choice being sober.....some people just shouldn't drink, this poor family has started their NY in the most awful devastating way

Sounds awful. Sorry you had such an awful night. You're right, it really does just show how dangerous a drug alcohol is. It scares me to think how many times I put my life and even the lives of others on occasion in danger when drinking.
I saw photos of what was going on on the internet this morning. Pretty awful.

I found SR because I knew there were good things going on in the world that were not covered in the news.
Loulou's post and the pictures in the Telegraph really shed light on the importance of website's like SR. I wish we could have a picture of the many folks who have gotten sober here and stayed sober last night whether they stayed up late or went to bed. I wish we could measure the infinite good being done by all the folks who figured out a recovery plan and stuck it out.
Here is a big thanks to all of you. You have made this world a better place.

Lou Lou you can get some well needed rest. I looked at those pics Strat put up. Grim. The aftermath doesn't look so fun.
A sober friend of mine works in the emergency room at s hospital, not as s nurse, but she's always very busy after the holidays, and is grateful she's sober. What we do to ourselves.
Thank you for posting.
