How to say NO to your cravings
Good article.
I say no to my desire for alcohol just like I say no to my desire to do other inappropriate things.
I want to throw my stapler at my boss's head.
I want to make a move on the hot chick.
I want to run idiot drivers into the ditch.
I want to drink alcohol.
Why should one of those inappropriate behaviors get special treatment from me?
Answer - It shouldn't.
I don't do any of them. Period.

Thanks, that is a very good article.
For me I have put a new spin on this AV which is driving it around the bend, I thought to myself while driving to my appointment this morning about this inner voice we have which tells us right from wrong, is this action ethical or logical.
It my case hurting people is not ethical, my AV hurts people that I love so my AV is not ethical and controls my logic because when I drink everything is off the table and I hurt people and do some things I would never dream of sober, not stealing or hurting anyone but jumping on an ATV or tractor so I can get my beer in a snow storm makes perfect sense when I drank, stupid isn't it?
Thanks again

Loved it all the way through, SW. I think the writer really understands alcohol addiction as well as how to work on it.
Have a zero tolerance policy
Never fantasize about drinking
Take care of your health and well-being
Our imaginations are powerful and affect how we behave. Fantasizing about having happy, SOBER moments can kill drinking urges, too.
I hate mornings when my alarm goes off and I gotta get to work, but if I imagine myself having fun at work, good weather, and current problems being resolved, it makes getting up much easier.

Thanks SW...I've been sick with the flu these past 2 days and not able to be as diligent as I need to be in seeking out new material to support my efforts at sobriety...so having this article handed to me was a gift...my AV has been stalking me these past 2 days...and I needed something new to chew on..this fit the bill! Thx!!!
