So many inspiring posts here! I am on day 15, and ticking along.
Very excited as going to spend the evening with Mr. Fireman, which was unexpected - someone offered to cover his evening shift yesterday as they know he has had one hell of a year and they wanted him to have a break and enjoy himself. Apparently when they asked his plans today they were shocked as it was the first time he told them about me, so it was quite the surprise to them. We plan on snuggles and movies.
I am looking forward to 2016 so much, the first time I can remember feeling positive about the year ahead.

Hopefully it will be! Poor sober friend is babysitting son, who has plans to stay awake all night, beat him at air hockey and generally give him no peace! I bought them in lots of snacks and goodies. Sober friend was coming over anyway, and really likes Mr. Fireman, so was very happy to give us a night alone. Between our schedules we can go for a week or two with no time to see each other. Hopefully that will change in the new year.
Happy New Year Tetra, Melina

Old thought processes die hard.
I was debating whether or not to take a coat or jacket and wondering if it was going to rain (I am going to a place called Nola's 20 minutes walk away. Then it dawned on me that I can just drive myself there and back and can wear what I like.
One more benefit of staying off the sauce

I'm staying in tonight and making a big pot of meatball soup, and probably popovers. Not very festive, but I'm looking forward to it just the same. My town is downright dangerous on NYE. Even when I was drinking I didn't usually venture out. The bars stay open ALL NIGHT. People get extremely stupid. Just not fun.

Happy New Year to all friends here who are rockin' in 2016!
I have to echo Melina's words.
I truly adore you all.
This is for everyone here tonight, with a special welcome to those whose sober journey is young. You're not alone. We'll walk with you.
