That's probably what's hurt me most in my life. I've always tried to make sense of what's going on around me, especially human behavior (probably why I majored in psych), and so when things don't add up, and inevitably at some point blow up in my face (which always seems to blindside me), I recoil in horror and/or seethe in rage at the perceived "injustice."

I am sure fellow INTJs will relate to this.
This pretty much describes one of my best friends!
I get upset for a little bit, then I just kinda shrug and think "meh, people are crazy"
But it really bothers my friend, the way you just described how you feel is her, I should make her take myers briggs.
I love INTJ's- that TA I was crazy about is INTJ.

No! Well not yet....

After the semester was over and grades were in; I sent him an email that said
" you probably already know this by the way I creepily stare at you in class.....
But I think you're fantastic and I'd love to get to know you better.
It was really great to meet you.
Xoxo"

He wrote back that he'd like that.
Then no word, if I don't hear from him after the holidays I might send another email to say hi.
But I'm still crazy about him

Soberp: I can't attach photos, but I put my avatar up for you haha
I'm enfp and that is one of the best matches for intj- which is funny because they're very opposite.
That picture always makes me laugh

Hilarious, yeah I burst out laughing just now.

Jen, maybe this will help: Right click on photo, copy image address, then come here, click on the little yellow mountain pic above in the list of buttons/tools when you're in edit or reply mode, then paste that URL.

Of course, SP, your GMO-obsessed Coworker isn't really discussing GMOs. That's simply the Topic de Jour for her to assert her need for control, and to be right about GMOs. Or, Global Warming. Or, her choice for Presidential Candidate which - of course - is the superior one. The Topic is pretty much irrelevant with such Control Phreaks.

Given your adversity to Interpersonal Strife - which I share - either you're gonna inadvertently throw in the Towel and 'let' her control you, or you're take back that control via lil tricks like the one I mentioned above.

For me, it's some mighty delicious *fun* to manipulate Folks like that, and have them not even realize I'm doing it. Meanwhile, I'm giggling inside, and the Stress just melts away.

Only I'm allowed to make my Day suck. No one else enjoys that privilege.

I love your practical tips, Mesa. Very hands-on, and I appreciate that you give advice I can implement right away (lol, I'm aware I sound like a nerdy INTJ).

I had resigned myself to, very obviously and probably rudely, turning and walking away from her abruptly to give her the huge hint. Lol!

Yes, you are spot on here! I actually brought up the GMOs (which, I found out later, she didn't understand, hence her odd reaction -- I learned this from a co-worker after the blow-up), but she is typically yacking away about something she saw on TV the night before. And yes, spouting her opinion as "truth." Of course.

I won't easily forget her exasperated stamping of foot, and yelling: "I just won't talk to you anymore!" LOL!

I had a boss years ago that I worked for a very long time. She was horrible, manipulative, self-centered and one of the most dishonest people I have ever met. As time went by, I learned her ways and figured out how to manipulate her to get what I needed. People quit all the time because of her but I stuck around once I figured that out. She was eventually fired.

One more thought on this, and then I'll have to wrap it up and get dressed for work: ZF, I admire you for sticking it out and learning the person in that way. I think my modus operandi up until now has typically been to mentally try and tune them out or "write them off" as ridiculous in my mind, or, to get away from them somehow, to just up and leave the situation. My justification was that it was a total waste of my energy and time. That must sound cold and callous, and it might be on some level. It's probably something to work on.

Haha, Ken, I let out an audible sigh of relief just now.

It is nice to find the other INTJs. Wish it would happen more often IRL.

Oh, we're everywhere, SP. Being Men and all, however, we don't talk much IRL. As we discussed yesterday...
