Also hoping for a better year
Also hoping for a better year
Hi all, newbie here.
Like many people I'm also hoping 2016 will be better on the sobriety front. My struggle is not unlike many others - drinking got progressively worse, started affecting work, relationships, my mind. Telling myself over and over and over again that "this" would be the last time, only to do it again a few days later. Insanity.
I had a few good false starts this year. Made it close to 60 days once this year, the longest in several years. 2012 had my first DUI, and this year my 2nd. Lost my Mom last year, and just haven't been able to get over the depression. But, I know that getting drunk isn't the answer.
So I'm calling 12/29/2015 my first day in sobriety and making a plan for 2016 to be my first sober year. God willing.
Thanks,
BB

That's great.
I'm sorry for all the struggles you've been through, but just remember, there's not a thing a drink will make better.
On the contrary, staying sober is it's own reward. You'll learn how to deal with situations that used to baffle you. Sober.
So, here's to 12/29/15. And many sober days ahead.
