New Year / New Me

Like all of you, I have a back story that is similar to all other stories posted in SR. Today, I have 10 days sober, my mind is sharp, my daily workouts in the gym have me feeling great physically, and I have a strong desire to keep it this way. 2016 is right around the corner, and I'm ready to re-create myself.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Good for you for not waiting till the New Year to quit. I know a couple of people with a sobriety date of 1/1 who have put together many, many years of sobriety, but a lot more who treated it like any other New Year's resolution and it fell by the wayside when they realized real effort is involved, not to mention changing a whole bunch of other things in their lives.

Make sobriety your NUMBER ONE priority. Working out and all that is great, and might even help your recovery along, but if it's a choice between the gym and a meeting or something, make sure your priorities are straight.

Love the positive post, Gr8. There's no doubt you can stay free of it & have the kind of life you want. Welcome to SR - the encouragement here will really help.
