That sounds good but try to get to the gym more than once a week. Until it becomes a new habit is too easy to say "let's slip today" And then today becomes forever. Just me 2 cents.

we cant afford to go to the gym twice a week we are on disability benefits( mental health reasons ) its £10 for both of us to go once and we get money off with a membership card )we do however have a cross trainer and can use that for when we cant go to the gym but we have to do something about my motivation as i find it hard to motivate myself

It might be worth chatting to your GP if you are on benefits, as they may be able to refer you for subsidised gym membership on health grounds at your local council-run gym.

The other thing that might be worth giving a go are the NHS couch 2 5k podcasts and do some exercise out in the fresh air. I've used them and they're really good for motivating and building up gradually. Couch to 5K - Live Well - NHS Choices
I'm going to give these another go and try to get so I can enjoy the free Park Runs in my area once I'm comfortably doing 5k. Your Edinburgh one looks good as well... http://www.parkrun.org.uk/edinburgh/

And good on your hubby for blocking that website

Hold it all together
Everybody needs you strong
But life hits you out of nowhere
And barely leaves you holding on

And when youre tired of fighting
Chained by your control
Theres freedom in surrender
Lay it down and let it go

So when youre on your knees and answers seem so far away
Youre not alone, stop holding on and just be held
Your worlds not falling apart, its falling into place
Im on the throne, stop holding on and just be held
Just be held, just be held

If your eyes are on the storm
Youll wonder if I love you still
But if your eyes are on the cross
Youll know I always have and I always will

And not a tear is wasted
In time, youll understand
Im painting beauty with the ashes
Your life is in My hands

Lift your hands, lift your eyes
In the storm is where youll find Me
And where you are, Ill hold your heart
Ill hold your heart
Come to Me, find your rest
In the arms of the God who wont let go

It's okay to be sad and to cry, TryPraying. It's scary because it seems like if you open the floodgates you will never be able to stop, but in my experience it helps to get it all out in a big sob.
You can't just give up and wallow in sadness, but you can't push it down forever either.
Sometimes when I'm really overwhelmed I have a good 20 minute cry and then feel more able to get on with my day.
Hope Christmas dinner is pleasant for you and hubby.

Hang in there, Try! It sounds like you're making progress. It may be slow but you'll get there.

That's why I love those NHS podcasts - that's where they start from. You can repeat weeks until you're ready to move to the next one. If you follow the link you can read what it asks you to do in the first week (mostly walking with a tiny bit of jogging).

Good luck with the doctors. There might be other referrals they can give as well. I knew one lady who had a referral for Slimming World as well. I think it depends a lot on your area and your GP, and the extent of your weight problem.
