Absolute bliss with a couple days free of alcohol
Drinking gives us a couple hours of fogged oblivion.
Then we sleep poorly wake up, sweat., and the next day we just don't function very well. (crabby)
The primitive part of our brain screems
for alcohol as the evening comes. A drink feels sooo good, then oblivion............. next day, feel like crap again,, we barely function, but thats OK,, later a drink will get rid of that.
YES, the day we don't drink, we sleep well, we sleep in, wake up feeling GREAT, Eat, feel sooo good all day. So good! We function so well, our intellects are in hyperdrive.YES WE are So good, lets have a drink.......

When things got going good I would deceive myself into thinking that
a (little) drink would be a kind reward for this good guy.
Wasn't good for long.

I found after 6 months of being alcohol free that a depression/ dysthimia i'd had for years went .
Alcohol is a depressant i'm not willing to have a few hours of soporific effects for 6 months of that ever again ,
keep on

I can relate so much, especially the last part. The cycle for me is usually: drink 6-7 beers, feel terrible the next day, don't drink, sleep well, wake up early feeling great, go workout in the morning and have a wonderfully productive day, in the evening it's "wow I had a great day! Let's pop a top!," and the cycle continues. Hoping to finally break that cycle for the last time.
