Hi. Found your group on a Google search, yay Google. Probably should have Googled sooner. I am married to a functioning alcoholic, but not a very good one (functioning that is). We've been married 10 years. He is in denial. I used to be so patient and helpful (and hopeful). I am now an angry wife. I don't even like myself anymore. I don't feel like being nice, and I don't want to babysit an alcoholic anymore. I love him when he's not drinking. I don't want to give up, but I am tired of trying. I'm not really even sure what I'm asking on this thread. Maybe guidance, maybe just support.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Hi there and welcome to SR. I'm sorry for what brought you our way.
I'm an alcoholic married to an alcoholic. I've been sober for a while now but my husband, sadly, is struggling.
Hang in here and learn. Take care of yourself. I so understand the anger, and the tired, hoping things would change. Your husband will only change when he is ready. You cannot fix, manage or control him, only your reaction to him. Check out the support forum for family and friends of alcoholics. There are a lot of great, really supportive people there.
Again, welcome!

Hi, SunnyLisa! I linger here and the F&F board. My AH is fairly well functioning as well, but can't seem to get it together. I could have written your post - I have had so many emotions the last few days but most of all I am just tired of being so very tired of it all. UGH!
You are not alone! ((hugs))
