I made it to Day 7 and did something similar, Soberwolf. I woke up on my day 7 and felt amazing and energetic. So when a drink was available what was the harm of 1 or 2? The harm was it turned in to 7 and a bad hangover. The good news is nothing disastrous happened and I am starting over. Before I would say, Oh, nbd nothing happened besides a hangover, I can still drink. Now I know that simply not staying within my limits is the harm - it doesn't matter that nothing "bad" happened. What matters is I broke the rule not to drink, and didnt stay with 2 when I did drink. I know now that I am never going to be able to control it, so I have to abstain completely. My luck has run out. The next slip up could mean hurting myself or someone else. I am quitting while I am ahead. And the only thing ill lose is less money, more weight, and less lying and feeling like **** about myself

I hear you--I plan on staying away from the club too.

Here's the difficulty: I think of most of the outside world as the club.

I remember my older brother sipping a rum and coke and telling my middle brother how good it tasted. The middle brother was trying to remain sober. What a bastard-some people are toxic. Best to avoid toxic folks. When I still drank I would never meet a sober friend in a bar. A real friend isn't selfish.

Great job coming back here, and talking about it. Sounds like you learned some great lessons out of it, which means you're now both wiser and stronger. You can do it!

Have you thought of making a dedicated recovery plan, Garden?
