3weeks2days
First post for me! Its 3am and I am wide awake, 3 weeks 2 days and my sleep pattern has gone from passing out at 8pm, waking at 5am feeling exhausted to now going to sleep at 9pm and waking early hours feeling refreshed! Not quite sure why I woke so early today but its the most amazing feeling of clean and wholesome, when you wake from a true sleep. I am also loving the effects of not drinking on my skin, I have lost 5kgs and look 5 years younger already! I have no urge to drink atm, I just want to continue waking up feeling like this. This is the 2nd time I have tried sobriety and can't believe I let myself slip, but am determined not to fall back into old habits. I have really enjoyed reading peoples blogs, I can't seem to find enough to read right now, suddenly have lots of time in the evenings!
Hi zlhzlh and welcome! Three weeks and two days for me too!
Proper sleep sure is a great thing, a real revelation! Alas I wish I had lost some weight in the process but hopefully that will come once I cut out the chocolate biscuits (never had a sweet tooth before but sugar cravings have gone through the roof since quitting).
Keep posting - this is a great community with such wonderful support :-)

Thanks everybody for such a great welcome. You are right about craving sweet stuff, but if I crave in the evening I treat myself to a smoothie, not only filling but naturally sweet. Probably not the least calorific option but in comparison to 2 bottles of wine a night, is def the way forward.
I know things will probably get hard over Christmas but I am hoping the support from this forum will help me get through.
