I just read this online and it is exactly 100% accurate of what happened to me nearly 30 years ago when I broke free from a heroin addiction for the final time...

I think it applies to alcohol and any destructive behaviours in our lives .

Overall a good list! I have one quibble; I don't think we need to reach a breaking point. Sometimes an epiphany is enough. Still I think it's a great post.

I agree MOS...I dont feel a total breaking point is necessary...
"I have had enough" can be just as powerful for the motivation to make changes.

So many failed attempts ended when I didn't feel better in 3 days. It takes months for the cravings/urges to subside. I had to be prepared to ride that out.
