After 3 and a half weeks the reason I darank reared it's ugly head.

I was feeling fine then everything went to hell. I was running 190 mph, I could not comprehend anything, I was nuts. Some call it Bipolar, I like to call it Manic depression. I had to be forcibly hospitalized and that was a good thing. I had went at this like I have everything in my life including my using. I had attended 75 meeting in 3 weeks and thought I had it. I did not drink and after a night of hell and fighting security guards, I surrendered to the face that I was going no where. I feel bad I have to take meds but maybe if I keep it up and work the steps I will be free from it.
This has been going on since kindergarten and I was not drinking then. Anyone else had this duel n diagnosis?

I'm glad you got the treatment that you needed. I hope that the medication works for you and don't feel bad for using medication for bipolar. Hopefully it will help stabilize your life and you will be able to continue to work on recovery.

I take medication for manic depression and it really helps stabilize me. I hope it helps you too.

There are many members here who are 'dual diagnosis' UncleWane - I have faith in you that you can get sober and stay that way
