You people shocked me!!!!
yesterday i did my first post mostly because it was day one and i wanted to confirm my start date with a post, something i could look back at if things get a little tricky, I was shocked at how many people posted a welcome and how many people honestly where offering their support , you people are really great and i thank you. well its day 2 and im feeling even more committed to ending this misery of drinking. im stronger today than i was yesterday and its because of you kind people, thanks and have a great day,bye the way sleep last night was a disaster , im exhausted just from the bizarre dreams , cant wait to see whats playing on the dream channel tonight, enjoy
have to just have to for the humor is kicking me hard here.. but hugs kiddo from so many of us. and welcome to this group of silly silly people that hold each other so tight... no humor just the truth.. love and prayers ardy
Congrats on Day 2 Grizzly! The sleep thing will be a bit erratic for a while, your body and mind are trying to adjust and aren't used to being not sedated all the time. Rest, water and good food are all good things to do right now, and don't rule out seeing a doctor for a checkup if you haven't been in a while.
Grizzly, I think it's normal to feel exhausted the first day or so, but you will begin to heal your body, mind & soul before long. We are a family here and we do understand how hard this is.
Yay! Day Two! The first few weeks are uncomfortable but it is so worth it to hang on to sobriety.
Sleep is over rated.
I'm kidding of course. I didn't sleep well for the first month. I survived it, and now I am on a regular schedule.

Congratulations on day 2, Grizzly; well done.
Sleep can be erratic in the beginning but it will normalize.
Be kind to yourself; eat healthy meals; drink lots of water; get fresh air; take short walks; treat yourself to ice cream.
Be sure to see your doctor if you have any concerns.
You will get through the initial discomfort. The end result is amazing.

Well done on day 2 . Its taking me some time for decent sleep to return but since i'm a shift worker sleep was always erratic . I doze when i'm tired on my days off , I can be watching TV or reading and all of a sudden i'm in the land of nod .
As Anna says it takes time to heal .
wishing you well.

Welcome and congrats on day 2 Grizzly. SR is a great place and has helped turn lives around; mine included.
It takes a lot of work, but you can do it and can lean on us as much as you need.
Just remember to post here when you are feeling weak or like you might cave. We have all been on day 2 and can help you through any tough spots.
Welcome aboard.

It will get easier and by day 4 you should feel much better.
I will also join in with others: if you can afford it and/or if you have good health insurance get a physical just to be on the safe side. Aside from the potential physical damages a lot of alcoholic are malnourished and have some vitamins or mineral deficiencies.
