Two Years Eve
Well said Ruby2. Great job on 2 years of continuous sobriety. You have been an inspiration to me especially since I, too, have a hubby that drinks to excess. This journey is difficult, but it is worth it every step of the way. Congrats and thank you for sharing.

Ruby, reading your post was a great way to start the day! It reaffirms what I've learned to be true in protecting my sobriety.....such useful information for newcomers or those still struggling too. Proactive.
Way to go!!!

Awesome post, Ruby....
Thanks for taking the time to share it.
It's important that these windows of hope and inspiration keep shining their light into the darkness that newcomers often feel.
My own journey of sobriety was greatly helped by these stories and these guideposts that it can be done and is worth it.
Even today, as I read your post, your words contribute to helping me continue to stay sober and honor my choice to make the most of my life.
Making the most of my life and drinking are two opposites. I can have only one. When I became clear on that, being sober became a lot easier. It is no longer about just "not drinking". It is no longer a feeling that I am "missing out". It is a recognition that despite my occasional longing or sense of loss that naturally arises when thinking about drinking or seeing others drink or seeing messages in the world around me - for ME, drinking is the path to a less-than-complete life. And I don't want that. Drinking no longer has a place in my life.
Thanks again, and congratulations!

GO Ruby! GO!! You inspire me, Ms. Ruby. The only thing better than being here right now to witness your 2-year celebration would be to be in your presence and doing so. In your presence to congratulate and give you a hug. And to take a look at all your holiday decorations and hear your ideas. If your decorations are anything like your spring/summer potted plants, I would bet they are pretty snazzy.
Prayers for your father, you, your family and may your father have a speedy recovery.
