Spousal Abuse Recovery

After 6 years, I woke up and realized that I did not want another year of living with someone who was abusive. Now that he is gone I feel so odd.

Hi MrsVirtue,

I can imagine it might feel a little odd for a while, but I'm really glad you have left that behind.

welcome :)

It will take some getting used to but I think you made the right choice. I left an abusive marriage and it was so hard and sad at first, I felt like half of me had been ripped away. But with time that changed and I've never regretted leaving.
There is a lot of support online and offline for those going through the same thing, and that can help the transition.
Welcome...

Welcome!

I'm sorry you were in an abusive relationship and so glad that you got out. I think that most of us, at the beginning of any recovery journey, are nervous and unsure. I know you will find support here.
