Same for me and my original family, Bix.

Good to be here! I've made the cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie; green bean thingy shortly. I've been enjoying my son home from college this week! He is going this morning to his Dad's Thanksgiving and then to my parent's house tonight where we will eat later. It's always been a drag on him to have to do the holiday celebration split between two parents due to the divorce but he's been quite a sport about it given the many years he has done it. Looking forward to dinner later as my favorite foods and grateful my family celebrates sober! Happy sober Thanksgiving to all

Sleeping like a baby always struck me as an odd expression given the amount of noise babies make when they're sleeping. I'm glad Finn is doing well. You do know that Finn was born into an extended family here on the weekend thread

I'm making green bean casserole too. My mom usually makes it but since it's me, I'm making it. With swiss cheese.

BeautifulPines welcome to the thread.

My mother always makes it with shredded Swiss and crushed cornflakes topping. Although she does it with French cut green beans.

Just did my small run with the dog and the beaver moon. It was very, very, very cold, but fantastic. I am thankful I am done.
I am making the sweet potatoes and the chex mix for the family gathering this evening. Going to watch the dog show while I cook and putter.
My sister hosts every year, which means the house is full of her extended family of in-laws. I much prefer her in-laws to my brothers in-laws.
But since I am the wallest of wallflowers, I usually find a nice spot near the fire and people watch.

But first, another cup of coffee.

Finally at home, and at normal keyboard)

Off to boxing in 10 minutes though. So enjoying a cup of tea and catching up with posts.

Love you all, guys. Having back an opportunity to check SR once in a while at work just made my day, and I swear - added up to productivity! Surely a thing to be thankful for!

Have a great day, all.

Thanks for the "Shaking the Tree" video, Mesa. Now I'm stuck in a loop of Peter Gabriel. Worse things could happen fershure. Mmm. "Alice's Restaurant." I'll have to come back to that one.

I also had stuff I was multi-quoting to comment upon and was logged out by the site. Seems that happens on occasion. Rebooting the servers? Who knows.

It is frosty white out there but clear and blue skies so a morning walk and then get right into the food coma prep.

I recently ran across a bag full of wine corks. I was going to make some crafty thing with them. I only collected them for a year or so. I'm embarrassed to tell you how big that bag was. How classy, a corkboard made from cheap wine corks. What was I thinking? How is drinking wine any more sophisticated than rotgut vodka? The lies we tell ourselves.

Not going back there. Not today, not ever. I feel too good and too content.

Rock on, Weekenders, in all your quirky, fun, gentle, kind, sweet, humorous human-ness. I love you all.

Well I've got another interview lined up for tomorrow. Might as well keep truckin along.

Out for a drive with my sister. It started raining so we found this pub in the middle of nowhere. There are signs on each table reading "Tea/Americano + dessert €5". The barman came over to wipe the table as my sister proclaimed loudly "oh I left my phone in the car". He smiled at her and said "oh don't worry, you can manage without it for half an hour".

Point taken

HA Mesa, you beat me to it - good job. I was ready to post alice's restaurant, been giving clues the past couple weeks

And it was sneaky of you to post that link to 'thanksgiving outfits' just so you could sneak one of yourself in there. It didn't get by my keen eye tho...
