The next 4-5 days....

I am going to post something a little later, but wanted to quickly make this brief post. Thanksgiving is upon us, many people will be getting off work early today and will have no responsibilities until Monday morning. Alcohol is typically as popular as turkey during the next 4-5 days. I will be checking in here regularly, but it is my sincere hope that come Monday this site is not a M.A.S.H. unit. Me included. So, I just wanted to commit it to paper as DoggoneCarl says.

I'm laying low and staying close to SR myself. I will not be a casualty of the holidays!

See you around here, Jeff.

There will be people around here all through the weekend. I will be here myself. Thanksgiving in Canada was last month, so this is just a normal time here.

Wouldn't surprise me, and each turkey can feed 6-10 people, so that's a lot of food. My wife and I volunteer for Christmas, I think next year we should start volunteering no Thanksgiving too. People need to eat.

I'm realizing that the USA is not "the world". My intentions were good.

Its great that for many its just another weekend, so for those of us in the US, when we check-in, there will be things to read and contribute to.

We don't celebrate that here in the UK but Christmas is bad enough for a boozathon extravaganza lol. It's just another day, you'll be fine :-)

I am really glad you committed to staying sober this Thanksgiving. I know the first sober holidays can sound a bit daunting but it is definitely doable. There will be plenty of support here so for those reading this who are new to sobriety or a bit anxious just keep your cell phone close by and stay connected to SR.

Been to the UK dozens of times... I love it there, packed away too many Fullers and other brews. Brits do love their pints, I can see Christmas being a tough time for recovering folk. Good luck to all!

Pints has never been my drink of choice - ha! When I had a choice lol. It's frowned upon for women to drink pints really. Good luck to you - there is so much sober fun to be had.

I love Christmas Dinner and the whole day in general with turkey of course . This year though I will be sober just like you at Thanksgiving Thomas .
I am working nightshift 23,24,25,26 Dec so that guarantees no boozathon for me

I concur Thomas. I'm going to focus on the beautiful, snowy, hangover free mornings! Happy thanksgiving.

I bought fancy root beer and ginger beer to drink tomorrow. I am a little nervous but determined not to drink.

56 days today!

That's a great idea! I like the notion of a fun, fancy soft drink more than say sparkling grape juice that makes you think of wine.

Treat yourself to a beverage with REAL cane sugar instead of corn syrup. SO much better!
