The Holiday season is a good time to increase your sobriety actions, whatever they might be. For me, I usually attend a few extra AA meetings as a preventive step.

First night under my belt. The frickin Wednesday before thanksgiving in this town is akin to New Years, its crazy. We were in bed by 10:30 and up at 7AM. Time to start prepping the food.

With you, Thomas! This is my first sober Thanksgiving in . . . 20 years? Maybe longer: even when I was sitting at the Kids' Table, my parents let us have wine with our turkey.

Going to the in-laws' today. I'm going to just walk away from any political discussions. Not worth getting angry about.

Happy Thanksgiving!

FYI (and for anyone else who finds the holiday a challenge), many AA Intergroups sponsor Alcathons on holidays. Round the clock meetings, fellowship, and usually goodies to eat.

Anyone feeling lonely or the need to recharge their sobriety batteries, look up your local Intergroup and call or check their website to see if there's one in your area.
