sober 4 days!
hi! I am a single parent to tow children. I have had a problem with drink since I was about 12. I always have to get totally wasted. Now however, since I have had my kids I never get in a state. I still manage to wake up at night time for my 2 year old and do the school run ect. I just always have a hangover. I'm gaining so much weight and my skin is terrible. I convinced myself its because I'm bored and when I try to open up to people they say I have nothing to worry about. Its because I never reveal the true extent of my intake.
I want to change. I want to be sober and not have conversations that I don't remember. I want my kids to grow up in a stable house. I sense it is soon becoming out of hand.
so anyway, I'm 4 days clean and I am soooo nauseous! has anyone else suffered this side effect? I just feel so sick! does anyone know how long this will last for? does anyone have any advice for staying off the booze? when the kids are in bed I'm so bored! I do study but booze always made my night seem a little more enjoyable!
I cant go to AA meetings because I have no childcare.
I hope to hear back form someone

Welcome, ash! Four days is AWESOME!
Only a doctor can give you good advice about your nausea. Symptoms that are normal for one person might be dangerous for another.
Regarding AA, have you tried giving them a call? There may be meetings with child care, and having face-to-face support is invaluable.

thank u for the reply. the truth is alcohol is my companion. lol its crazy but I actually feel like I'm in the middle of a divorce. I'm upset. I'm going to miss it. lol when I cook I drink, when I watch tv I drink, when I go out I drink lol. and on top of all that I have the physical effects. I'm lonely and I feel like its punishing me by giving me this sickness feeling. I'm actually love sick lol. its crazy. and its my secret. I cant tell anybody . I cant bare the judgement .
Welcome to SR, ash. Congratulations on three sober days.
Checking with your doctor to discuss your drinking and to form a partnership for recovery is always a good idea.
There are some great links on how to put together a plan for sobriety. I will find and post them here for you.

Ash, I'm glad you posted and that you have stopped drinking.
I also think it's a good idea for you to have a plan because staying sober and recovering takes work. Since alcohol is so much a part of your life right now, it would be a great idea to try to make some new routines in your life where alcohol is not involved. We do understand how hard this is.
