30 Days!!!

When I came here 30 days ago I didn't think I could make it a week. So I've officially made it 30 days. But my journey doesn't end here. I have a feeling this is just the beginning for me. This is the longest period I have been sober by choice for God know how long (I say choice because I got sober while pregnant for 9 months). It's been a painful process but I'm learning a lot about myself. I have a very crippling self image and I need to learn to love myself and care less about how others feel about me. I want to be confident in who I am and what I stand for. I want to be more careful about people I allow into my heart and into my life. I need to guard myself better but not to the point of fear.

This forum is amazing. Seriously could not have stopped without this place. Thanks you for everything.

Congratulations on 30 days!

The begining is rough but this shows that can do this. I had to take self inventory of myself daily and affirm that i am worthy and that a sober life is better than being drunk and high. The longer I'm sober the less i care what other people think aslong as it benefits me.

I wish you well

Fantastic effort and I agree that SR helps us stay on track. Do you have a new goal now like 6 months?

secretchord 11-23-2015 07:19 PM

I don't have another goal. Just get through each day. :)

Fantastic job, Secretchord (or perhaps I should say Hallelujah!)

And welcome to the drinking dream. The great thing with that one is the fact you felt terrible from it. A great sign that deep down this is something you really, really want.

Congratulations on 30, it's amazing! Keep in mind, it took a long time to get where you were being the drinking person. It will take time to be the person you are without the booze...Proud of you! :)

It was only a dream :)
You are still building your sober days and getting there.

Congrats and be proud--you did this on your own for you.
