I love the feeling of not drinking on a Friday night!

I'm taking the kids to the new Charlie Brown and Snoopy movie... we're going to write poetry together... and go to bed by 10.

THAT is living!!!

I could have written this myself word for word. Right there with you tonight. Except it's 4pm here already. Sigh. I hope you're night goes smoothly. Hang in there and I will too.

Thanks for posting this because I'm loving all the replies to your thread. It's helping me out and helping remind me to stay firm on my choice. So many reasons to be sober. Tonight my husband and I are going to make tacos, then get the kids ready for bed, we'll clean up and then catch up on our tv shows. I'll probably make some Yogi tea and eat ice cream then hopefully be in bed by 10.

Not drinking tonight here either but the man is sleeping so we haven't finalized plans yet. I know it won't include alcohol for me!

H.A.L.T. That is sooo true. My biggest triggers are Angry {or agitated is what I would call it } and Tired. Those are exactly the times I want a big glass of wine to push through whatever it is I'm trying to get through. The wine numbs the agitation and the fatique.

But, since I can no longer stop at 1 glass anymore, I'm going to have to learn new tricks to try to stay calm and rested. My new mantra: Keep Calm and Do Not Drink.

I second that! I've been using that HALT method and it works! I was right with you Jackie about the Friday thing, my craving hit right after work was out at 3:30 pm. I got a nice cup of coffee and went thrift store shopping. We can all find cool stuff to do on Fridays and we'll be able to enjoy them better, and most of all, we'll be able to remember them!
