Hi there,

Newly sober (11/4) and looking to get connected. I tried AA in the past, but have been having a tough time finding a group. Unfortunately my local group has an alcoholic who's been treating me really badly. Calling me names, saying I'm a useless drunk, spamming my e-mail and cellphone, etc. I'm fine with a little tough love, but this became harassment and there's no way I'm going back to that group.

I'm also giving SMART Recovery a try.

Sounds like that person you described is not working their program Mikkel! You are right, stay away from them. lol. Choose a program and a place that makes you feel welcome and at home.
