I've been working on my xmas list, all I really wanted was a new pepper mill,

so I needed to run up to cabelas when I got home tonight to re-serve the string... I call and the guy says bring it up were not busy...
he forgot to mention, or rather ASK THE PERSON WHO DOES IT if the bow press broke today...a 5 dollar job, it cost that in gas... plus the fact that you can no longer get replacement parts unless you pick up another old one... - another story... so they guy tells me two days ago they had a hundy off on this one crossbow

still with me haf? so I say, why not give me hundy off tonight. Can't, it was two days ago only a manager can do something like that. Then he tries to sell me a different one - exactly the same manufacture and everything but it's cabelas name on it plus you get a few extras ---, as I'm leaving I go to service desk and ask for manager,
I splain my wasted 45 minute drive etc... btw, and the guy in archery says only the manager can authorize 100 discount blah-blah-blah,,,,
sure thing, I'll give you a hundy off... total price, 426, cableas points 326, out of pocket 100...

so I sez to the wife, I know what I want for xmas... "What?" A new crossbow - this was after she asked me how'd it go at cabelas... and without going into the 27 8X10 color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one...

I said I need a new crossbow. How much? 100 dollars. Okay. Good cause it's already in the basement...

So I call crossbow! for the new weekender. still with me haf?
good night folks.

here's 10 minutes of your life you'll never get back - don't look unless you are really bored. It explains what re-serving means. well worth paying somebody else 5 bucks to do it... except on a crossbow you need a press to take the tension off the string, and you need all the gadgets,
and it's called a bobbin, not a jig... this is the same principle as 'whipping' rope, but for a different purpose
I'll show you how to whip rope in my next installment... first thing you learn in the boy scouts...

BAM!
I went to a concert tonight and didn't have a single glass of wine
It was so delightful and fun to be sober at a concert! I was present and lucid the whole time and really enjoyed it

We had a snowstorm here tonight, I was just in bed and all the power went out!
Of course I disregarded the snowstorm as the cause and assumed it was a diabolical killer who cut the power.
Those crime shows are sure doing me good

Hilarious. If I read a crime thriller before I go to sleep I will need to check all the locks, pull drapes, turn lights on in closets and sleep with a golf club - well not the club, that is too heavy. The 9-iron.

Saotchik - that is eerie.

Morning Soberwolf.

LBrain - funny.

GWTF, how is it going?

Trees, I just read about the death of Jonah Lomu. Very sad

For the non Rugby world he was an All Black and a force of nature who played despite having a rare kidney disease. He was only 40

Ugh, just getting in bed now.

One of the dishwashers got mad at me for writing him up tonight so he snuck out and left us in the s$&ts... Me and another chef doing dishes til almost 2 am.

He tried to backtrack on getting in trouble by saying he respects me as a woman. I told him you don't have to respect me for that, I was born that way. And that he doesn't have to respect me at all but he does have to recognize my role which is to tell him what to do the entire time he is on the clock.

It's been tough lately, cracking down on slacking hasn't made me popular. I don't mind bc my actions are clean, but it is exhausting. I'm glad word is getting around, spines are getting straighter when I walk in our kitchens. It'll help us in the long run if we clean house now.

That's after getting a crown and a filling at the dentist today.

Long long day.

Staycation starts Saturday. I booked a 90 minute massage next week, I'm going to spend a day at the Korean spa in all the saunas and pools and getting scrubbed by the grannies, and I'll be cooking for my family on Thanksgiving. It'll be very nice. I'm going to sleep as much as possible.

See you in the morning!

Thanks strageangel I'll go check it out. Thank you for the heads up.

Good morning evrybody. Long day today. If you like milk in your coffee try evaporated milk. Comes in a can so you don't throw out a half gallon of milk when the rest goes bad. Drinking straight milk makes me gag.

I absolutely love escaping into the Harry Potter world. I read it first as an adult too. If you like to listen to audiobooks, Jim Dale does a fantastic job with Harry Potter. Wonderful voices, doesn't overdo it. I highly recommend it.
