I'm in! Thanks Weasel!

Welcome canguy, ghost and Tufty. you can do this!

Hey Verte!

Bimini, good luck on the new job. Keep us posted.

It's wretched here. Cold. Windy with a capital W and raining. I'm going to be bundling up. I'll see you all later.

You've never lived until you've had a double Taylor Ham with jalapeno pepper jack cheese on an everything bagel.
With ketchup, salt and pepper.

I'm in for another sober weekend -
Ruby, it sounds nasty there...keep warm.
not sure about thinking clearly...I was for a while but now I feel like I'm regressing. I'm not sure what is going on. The pink cloud has flown off without me. But its ok...I bumble along and blah feelings will pass.
I am looking forward to the weekend - I love weekends!
Big welcome to newcomers and anyone who is struggling. The weekends can be tough but it's easier if you stick with us here.

Morning, W'enders!

Especially great to see Canguy, Tufty and Ghost here! You can do this.

And Verte -- you hit the nail on the head. Always so good to see you and benefit from your observations.

Have a peaceful, happy, sober day, everyone.

Mornin' guys.

It's a dreary morning but the sun will be out around 10am. Still not cold here yet, will be near 70F later in the day.

Lucy woke me up early to be let out of her crate to go pee-pee; when she came back inside she tore through the house like a bullet, and made a beeline for the bed. To my horror, she jumped up onto the bed (!!) and snuggled up against her Daddy's back. She seems ok. I checked her belly, no bleeding or discharge. She later got down and squirmed up under our bed where she sometimes sleeps. She didn't come out again until I got up right before 6am. Both beagles are now snuggled up in their fluffy blanket on their dog cot in my office.

Two long days of work ahead of me. Looking forward to the weekend!

Will be working through the proofreading course again this weekend.

good news is I got in to dental office on the day I called, bad news is I had to make 2 appts cause the doc didn't work late on weds, better news is nothing is wrong,
we spent most of the time talking navy stories... see ya in another "six" months...

seestor flying in today and meeting for lunch, If it dries up I may do some leaf duty... I'm still thinking about putting up xmas lites... I just don't like taking them down when it's cold out there... maybe it will change my mood and put me in a holiday spirit this year...

Brain, go for the Christmas lights. I like seeing them twinkling at dusk. Makes it feel warmer outside.

Weather still yuck. In the old days it would be red wine and big blankets on the couch in front of the TV. Not today. At least it's not freezing. Actually warmer than I thought it would be. I'm betting that the last of the leaves will be down today.

I had a strange cat run into my house last night during the storm. Cute cat but definitely someone's pet. Collar. Well fed and clean. I let him stay for a bit but then put him out where he cried at the back door. I put out a box and towel for him to snuggle in but he went away. Hopefully he found his way home.

Ruby, maybe a cup of tea or cocoa on the couch instead. I've been drinking chai lately, experimenting with the amounts of tea vs sugar vs milk vs water. I don't ever make it the same. I guess I'll need to start measuring and recording it somehow if I want a consistent cup.

I think I'm gonna run out and get me some scrapple!
It has taken a while for me to realize when you say 'chai' you mean a drink with chai as the main ingredient...
My wife drinks chai all the time, but never puts milk or sugar in it..., maybe some lemon and honey...

I'm in! Thanks for a great intro, Ken!

Welcome to the newbies, you can for sure do this! Just check in here a lot and say hi when you can.

You'll be surprised that you'll actually start wondering what all of us random people you've never met are up to at all hours of the day! And when you check in, that's five minutes without a drinkypoo (hopefully). It may be that VERY five minutes a moment of clarity has been wanting to slip in and give you a feeling like YOU CAN DO THIS!

I'm new too, coming on six months. Participating in the Weekenders thread makes SR feel more 'alive' to me and I look forward to everyone's shares.

Gettingsmarter, which Tony Robbins cd's are you listening to? I like him.

I'm going to go read around for a bit.

It's blustery in Chicago. Brrrrrr.
