Be strong...

Done the same thing myself. Would get dressed to go to the liquor store but changed my mind at the last second. Got undressed and stayed home. It's a tough spot to be in, but it can be done and it gets easier. Keep fighting the good fight. You don't want to start over again. John

Well done for staying strong, I don't know your story but wish you well.

Thanks for posting before you acted NN. Doing it a few more times will make it kinda second-nature. Congrats! You are doing it. I too have not been completely relieved of the urge. For me it's doing a load or two of laundry and scrubbing my kitchen floor---and of course checking in And posting here each morn'. Interaction cures inaction every day of the week. Onward!

Yeah well a nice meal meal and a boxset tonight is going to be better than a load of alcohol and some dirty burger and chips..

Good job on not going. You can do this. Usually an urge passes within 15 minutes. so taking a shower, eating a bowl of icecream or going for a walk usually helps a lot. At least these things helped me. You got this and we are all on this journey with you.

NeoNew that is awesome! Glad you turned back. Do you remember the thought you had that made you get dressed for it and the thought that turned you around?

It was my stepfather getting ready for a business trip and he runs around like a mad man doing everything at last minute and it stresses me out. I just had enough a pub came straight to mind but I did not give in thank god..

I'm a huge fan of walks with music when you get an urge. Also going to the gym everyday saved me. The thought of working out hungover was worse than not drinking....

Way to go NN , flex dem sober muscles

Beeraholic 11-18-2015 10:07 AM

Neo, thought of you today when I looked through my past posts. How are things going? I see in this thread you were at day 11 last week, still going strong? Only at day 6 myself, but feel great and hope the same is true for you!
