Hey Everyone

Just wanted to say hello. I have been busy with school lately and have found I can get more done if I reduce the number of AA meetings I go to.. Last week I only went to 1, although everything is going well. I know everyone has their own recovery plan, and if I thought it would be detrimental to my sobriety I wouldnt skip meetings. Anyways wanted to start using online recovery a bit more. I know plenty of you here on SR don't hit meetings at all. Anyways would love some feedback.

It's all about balance, being mindful, and what works for you.

I'm one of those who uses SR and a therapist exclusively. I'll tell you this, I am finding out the hard way that it is not a case of "I feel an urge coming on, letting me go to SR." That way lies relapse, at least for me. It is more a case of "Let me hop on to SR to avoid an urge in the future." SR, for me, is more of a vaccine than it is a cure.

I stay in contact with AA buddies over the phone and that helps a lot. I have heard someone say, "It's not the meetings you make, it's the steps you take". About to go to school...talk to ya later!

I too only use SR as a means of recovery support. For me, lifestyle change and SR is what is helping me stay sober. I'm trying to build a balanced healthy life that can be maintained for life and help me avoid a drink in the future. Based on what you've posted, it sounds like you're doing good.

Keep it up!

SR is my support group, I have never been to AA but not because I am against it. I would use whatever tool is available to keep me sober.
