Time will tell on that. The best thing you can do is apologize, tell her the truth, that it was not really "you", that it was your AV ("you" in that sense) which was playing the old "I drink because...." game. I did that for years. "I drink because of my sister's suicide" "because of my mother's abusive behavior" because, because because. Never I drink because I'm an alcoholic and it's my AV talking to you, trying to blame you for my behavior. My mother would even say of my wife, "She drove him to drink". Nonsense. She should have said, "My son is an alcoholic and he (the real "he") should do something about that. We'll help him but he's got to do the work. And don't fall for it if his AV says, "Poor me! I've got a "disease" Can't help it unless the doctors "cure" me." Sort of like leprosy. "Got this here disease. Sittin' around. Give me a pull at that bottle!"
