Where to begin

I write poetry, this really sums me up:

I drink wine when I知 happy,
I drink wine when I知 sad,
I drink wine when I知 crazy,
I drink wine when I知 glad,

I drink wine when I知 sorry,
I drink wine when I知 not,
I drink wine when I知 angry,
I drink more when I知 not.

I drink wine for no reason
I drink wine to reason
I drink wine to remain
I drink wine to escape

If you think you're too small to make a difference you haven't spent a night with a mosquito

Hi and welcome,

You have to want to be sober more than you want to drink.

The euphoria from 2 or 3 or 15 drinks wears off in about an hour or so....than you have the next 23 to 96 or more to regret it...

Doesn't make sense...alcohol is poisen.

It is the analytical mind vs the animal mind...

If you need a dr., see one.

Stop being a prisoner to booze. Stop being a drunk today.

Be proudly sober.

Welcome Holkham

It's never too later to start on Chapter 2

Have you tried to stop before?

Welcome holkham. I like your poem, I was in a similar situation before I quit. Basically the only reason I needed to drink was being awake - and I did.

There are a ton of resources and people here who understand...stick around an you might learn a thing or two!

Night one

I spent the whole day yesterday
Trying to list the whys
To stop the curse of drinking
As I approached the night
I went to bed sober
And so it begins again
The voices and the planning
That rattle round my brain
Can I act myself through this..
As if its no big deal
Can I face the emotions
That drinking couldn't heal?
Today is here it starts again
Real feelings, real day, real me
Please keep me strong to carry on
So I can be set free.
