One year
 

Wow, today is the one year milestone for me!
And it feels great! I feel better than I have felt in years, and have no desire to ever drink alcohol again.

What I have come to realize is that we are not missing anything by not drinking, we are actually living and enjoying life much more, feeling things more deeply rather than being numbed by poison! It is a whole new, better world!

For anyone just starting the journey, believe that the struggle is well worth it for a better life and a better you.
It is difficult at first, but it gets easier. Push yourself through the hard parts, do whatever it takes, you will be so much happier down the road!

Hey newpage, one year is really fantastic! I'm really hoping and working towards being able to post that in 10 months.

I agree - it's not something we've lost. I thought of it that way for too long - I was so afraid to be deprived, that I'd somehow be missing out. In truth, it was doing nothing but keeping me in a numb fog. That's not living. Happy for you!
