So I'm getting ready for work yesterday and my sis in law comes by and says "Are you still not drinking?" I say "Yes." She says, "Ok I had a drink but I won't bring it in because your husband told me not to bring any liquor in the house when you're here."
I told her I'd be going to work in a few and she can "Have at it" when I leave.
I was so surprised that my husband told her that, because in the past when it came to his family, they had the right of way even in my household. I guess he knows I'm super serious! We get in the car for him to take me to work and I say to him, "You have been refreshingly respectful, so I want nothing else but to give that same respect right back to you." He's like "Huh?" (His normal word with his normal demeanor lol) and I just laugh and he takes me to work. I was so ready to demonize him as an enabler or a hater in my effort to put any kind of failings as far as my sobriety goes on him, but I see he's not gonna let me.
