Prayers Please My recovery has hinged on my cats from the very beginning. Today we found that Kona, the beautiful chocolate boy in the front of my avatar has both kidneys failing. It looks like tomorrow we may have to make the dreaded decision. I am a mess. |
I'm so sorry, Anna. I've always been very attached to my cats too and went through this with two of them a couple of years ago. It is so hard. He looks like a total sweetie. Hang in there. |
Oh, Anna; I am so very sorry. I hope that the joy and love you brought to each other's lives brings some relief to your aching heart. |
Oh, I'm so sorry, Anna. I have a cat who was diagnosed with 75% failure three years ago. I've been giving her subq fluids for three years. It is my third cat to have kidney failure, and she has done better for longer than either of the other two. ((Anna)) I'm so sorry. It's heartbreaking that we can't keep them forever. |
Oh Anna...I am so sorry..he is a beautiful cat. You are in my thoughts. |
Anna, I am so sorry. Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. |
So sad to hear that Anna. Not much can be said that will make your decision any less painful, but do know we are all here for you and will be thinking of you. |
Prayers going up right now for you and your Kona. |
My heart goes out to you, Anna. |
I am so sorry Anna. I've always loved this story from James Herriot It goes a little something like this: a family needed to have their dog put to sleep. The dog, at ten years old, was dying of cancer. Herriot was unable to do anything more than offer the family a peaceful passing for the dog. The parents (and owners of the dog) thought it might be good for their six year old son to be present when the dog was put to sleep. Everyone was there for the dog’s final moments, petting him and telling him he was loved. Afterwards, Herriot and the parents were talking about how sad it is that dogs have such short lives. The boy spoke up, saying he knew why: He said that humans are put on Earth to learn how to be good, and to live a good life. To love everyone, and do good things. But pets already know how to do that, so they don’t have to be here as long. Prayers for you and Kona - we're all with you  D |
Oh, Anna. I am so very sorry to hear about Kona. My beautiful Siamese, Phoebe, was with me for 16 years until I needed to make that tough decision, also due to kidney failure. If it is any comfort, please know that the painful time evolves into warm memories and gratitude for the time together. Pets provide so much. I'll be keeping you in thought and prayer. You give from a seemingly endless place of kindness. Whatever we can give back, we will. This community is profoundly blessed by you, wise friend. |
I love my cats very much and I understand and feel your pain. I have two Burmese kitty's. |
My heart goes out to you, Anna. I have been where you are and it is gut-wrenching. Prayers and tight hugs to you and Kona. |
I'm sorry Anna They are our best friends and family all in one. |
