Well That's Different
Nine and a half months since my last drink and I'm still bedazzled with the newness of a sober life.
Everything is changing for me. There appears to be beauty in everything and everyone. Even the mundanity of household chores are a pleasure without the soul being steeped in beer or wine.
For those that have followed some of my posts they'll know I got some lodgers in a few months ago; one of which was a crazy hippy Spanish lady.
I'll confess to being bedazzled by her quirkiness and falling in love with her.
So today I asked her to marry me and she said "yes".
Well that's different! :-)

I am so inspired by this thread! It's reminding me to be thankful for the small things that are so much better in sobriety. I sometimes feel like life should be drastically better and different, and get a bit down. But truly, being able to be present for family and friends, and taking care of the everyday things responsibly is the basis for a much better life.
And hearty congratulations on your engagement! That is fantastic!
