Heel beat weekender Nov 6th

Heel beat is a term used when marching. It's the rhythm and established cadence of the troops. It's a powerful sound to hear the marchers highly synchronized and booming steps. A sound of unity in a common goal. Of determination to conquer a common enemy.

How about a little weekender heel beat!!!! Get in formation. (Get on the bus), hit that heel hard as you step, step, step in sobriety. Know you have comrades next to you will to fight and help you make it through a weekend.

Weekends were war for me in the early days. It was a terrible fight but a winnable fight. SR was there for me and in turn I am here for you. We all are. Happily supporting each other with the determination to conquer a common enemy.

Let's also turn those heel beats into a fun sober weekender music thread!!!!! We have not had one in some time!!! We have a few DJ’s on the bus…. Trach? LB?

*Ring Ring*

Welcome to your sober weekend!!!!

Ken

Olive1 11-05-2015 02:16 AM

I know, right?!

Time change has me a little discombobulated. And big grey cat has a very loud purr.

Not out of bed, just not asleep. ;)

The other day when I was hiking, this song popped into my head. I thinks it's a wonderful sobriety song.

Count me on.
4:30 am again, insomnia.

mns1 11-05-2015 03:40 AM

I'm on!

I just finished my first light therapy session per my doctor's recommendation. I don't know if it's all in my head but I feel particularly positive and alert.

Off to school. Have a great Thursday everyone!

My father-in-law (may he RIP) was a General in the Peruvian army and when I met my wife he was still pretty healthy. He taught me how to march like a soldier. It was kind of neat. One of the great memories I have of him.

gettingsmarter 11-05-2015 04:05 AM

I'm on! Let me see if I can figure out how to post a proper music post this weekend.

My alarm clock went off at 0530 this morning.
This is what is sounded like, "Did you get gas in the car?"
Um, you were here ALL DAY yesterday, why didn't you mention it yesterday?! So I put on flip flops and go for gas in a misty rain.
So much for sleeping in...

Commander Weasel reporting for duty.
Get into formation then get on the bus!
Kinda like a before and after here. We was in disarray until somebody showed up to set an example.
